The Serious Fraud Office (SFO) has dropped its inquiry into the collapse of carmaker MG Rover.

6,500 jobs were lost when the company went under in 2005.

The Business Secretary Lord Mandelson said that judgements would be made once the inspectors' report into the company's failure, due to be published on September 11th, became public.
