Final-salary pensions threatened

Millions of employees in the private sector face an uncertain retirement according to new figures from accountancy firm Pricewaterhouse Coopers.

Fifty-five of Britain's biggest companies - with once rock solid pensions - say they are ready to abandon their generous final-salary schemes.

Even long serving staff could see their retirement plans in disarray, like Garry Rothwell from Blackburn who works for Crown Paints.
