New rules for energy companies

The regulator of the energy industry, Ofgem, has said it will ban energy companies from charging higher tariffs to some groups of customers, such as those on pre-payment meters.

The Chief Executive of Ofgem, Alistair Buchanan, said he was determined to stamp out bad practices.
