Government "worried" about jobless

Gordon Brown has expressed his "personal regret" at new figures which show that unemployment has risen above two million for the first time in 12 years.

The Work and Pensions Secretary James Purnell has said the Government is doing all it can to get those affected back into work.

He told the BBC ministers were "dreadfully worried" about the fact that people were facing the future without jobs.
