Lego and Disney sign toys tie-up

Lego bricks

Toy maker Lego and Disney Consumer Products have announced a licensing deal that gives the Danish firm access to properties owned by the US firm.

From January 2010 Lego will recreate characters from the film Toy Story, such as Woody and Buzz Lightyear.

Later in 2010 Lego will produce characters produced by the animated movie Cars. And Prince of Persia-themed Lego items will be available that year.

Disney said the move would boost it in the construction toys category.
