Customers with outstanding orders with the collapsed furniture chain, MFI, have been told they can apply for refunds but they have been given no guarantee as to when they will be paid. 1,400 people have lost their jobs and all 111 stores have closed.

The collapse has also hit MFI's team of kitchen fitters. Barry Maiden, told the BBC that he is owed £5,000 by the company but is unsure as to whether he will get it back despite past guarantees. He says it is devastating.
