Brown and Darling on bail-out

The UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Chancellor Alistair Darling have held a joint news conference on the banking crisis in which the UK government will inject £37 billion into Royal Bank of Scotland, Lloyds TSB and HBOS.

Gordon Brown said the bail-out was 'unprecedented but essential for all of us' and would thaw frozen money markets.
