Wall St shares bounce back again

It has been a volatile week on Wall Street

The volatile week continued on the New York Stock Exchange on Thursday, with leading shares rebounding.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 261.7 points or 2.2% to 12,361.3. It had fallen 293 points on Wednesday and risen 420 on Tuesday.

It was led by financial shares such as American Express, which rose 9.5% and JPMorgan Chase, which closed up 8.3%.

European and Asian shares went in the opposite direction with Hong Kong closing down 3.5%.

London's FTSE 100 closed 0.9% lower, Frankfurt's Dax lost 0.7% and the Cac 40 in Paris fell 0.5%.

Tokyo markets were closed for a public holiday on Thursday and many global markets are closed on Friday for the long Easter weekend.
