Kesa has warned of tough sales this year
Kesa Electricals, the owner of the Comet chain, has thanked strong demand for flat screen TVs as it reported a 3% rise in like-for-like annual revenues.

The London-based pan-European retailer saw revenues for the year ending 31 January 2008 total £4.3bn.

Pre-tax profit at the company, which also owns European stores including Darty and Vanden Borre, fell slightly to £132.8m from £133m a year earlier.

Looking ahead, Kesa said it expects trading conditions to remain tough.

Revenues at the Comet chain were up 3.3% in the past financial year.

"Sales were helped by the continued high demand for new technologies, particularly flat screen televisions and laptops," said Kesa chief executive Jean-Noel Labroue.
