Yahoo is expanding alliances with traditional media

Internet search engine Yahoo has signed a deal with McClatchy, the third largest US newspaper group, to access news and commentary.
The deal will include news from Baghdad, Cairo, Jerusalem and Beijing. The value of the deal was undisclosed.
Yahoo tied up with seven US newspaper groups in November to share online advertising, content and technology.
McClatchy newspapers include the Miami Herald, the Sacramento Bee and the Mississippi Sun Herald.
As well as offering news from McClatchy's 31 newspapers and international bureaus, correspondents will also provide exclusive commentary and analysis to Yahoo in blogs.
On Wednesday LG Electronics announced a tie-up with Google to let customers access the site from its mobile phones.
'Makes more sense'
Newspapers have suffered declining sales as readers increasingly read content, including news, on the internet.
Yahoo already has access to newswires including Agence France Presse, Reuters, and Associated Press.
"We have gotten so big that they are starting to realise its makes more sense to work with us than shy away from us," said Neil Budde, Yahoo's editor in chief of news, finance and sports.
McClatchy expanded its titles after buying publisher Knight Ridder last year for $4.6bn.
McClatchy hopes the latest deal with Yahoo will help increase revenue, and offset some of the costs incurred in international news gathering.
