Department store group House of Fraser (HoF) has reported rising sales and profit margins and said it is "positive" about future prospects.
Like-for-like sales - which strip out the effects of new store openings - were up 0.4% in the first 19 weeks of the current financial year.
Higher profit margins meant it was confident of hitting targets for the first half of the year, the firm said.
HoF said it was on schedule to open its new store in Croydon this September.
A further three new stores are set to open next year.
