Head of BBC Technology dismissed

Ann Wilson, managing director of the BBC's technology arm, has been fired for "misuse of hospitality".

Ms Wilson, who joined BBC Technology 18 months ago, was dismissed following an internal disciplinary procedure.

Adrian Cocoran, the current director of operations at BBC Technology, has been appointed acting managing director.

BBC Technology is currently up for sale, and the BBC said Ms Wilson's dismissal would have no effect on the sale process.
