Your chance for a money-makeover
Are you a big spender or a saver?
At a time when Britain is in debt to a degree never seen before, the BBC is undertaking a bold experiment to test the nation's attitude on spending and borrowing.

The total UK consumer debt burden now stands at 150bn compared with just over 100bn in 2000, according to a recent report by the Credit Services Association (CSA).

That means in the average UK household for every 100 coming in, 118 is owed.

Hey Big Spender will analyse our attitudes to money and ask why some of us are so much more likely to get "in the red".

And we'd like YOU to take part whether you're a BIG SPENDER or SUPER SAVER. Do you love to borrow and live to buy? Do you leave bills unopened?

Does your money go on clothes, cars, houses, holidays, beer and babies or simply vanish into thin air?

OR are you scrimping and saving for a secure future?

Do you order tap water in restaurants, travel everywhere by foot and only switch the lights or heating on in emergencies?

Is FREE your favourite word?
