Asda recalls 'choke danger' toy
The toy was sold exclusively by Asda
Supermarket chain Asda has recalled a toy amid fears that a part could fall off and cause a child to choke.
Asda has stopped selling the "Mini-transport" toy, which went on sale on 21 October over the safety fears. The toy contains three plastic vehicles - a blue train, red plane and orange car and bears the barcode number 5024446007510. It was supplied exclusively to Asda by a company called Interak. Asda became aware of the problem after a plastic funnel on the £1.29 toy came loose, because it had not been glued on properly. Concerned Rachel Fellows, spokeswoman for Asda, said today: "Despite rigorous quality procedures it appears that components that make up the toy could become detached and potentially constitute a choking hazard." Asda urged people to return the toy for a full refund. |
