Bangkok tense after troops and protesters clash

Thai forces and anti-government protesters remain in a tense stand-off in Bangkok after clashes which killed one.

Troops fired tear gas as they tryed to seal off a heavily-defended encampment of protesters in Bangkok.

There were bursts of gunfire and loud bangs as the soldiers met heavy resistance from anti-government demonstrators.

Alastair Leithead reports from Bangkok.
