North Korea seizes tourist resort venture

North Korea says it has seized a resort complex belonging to South Korea at a joint tourism zone inside its territory.

It comes amid mounting tensions among the two countries which includes the recent unexplained sinking of a South Korea naval vessel.

The resort had been a lucrative source of income for North Korea, until Seoul suspended operations after a South Korean tourist was shot dead there by a North Korean guard in 2008.

John Sudworth reports from Seoul.
