An Australian ranger was saved by a colleague after a crocodile swung dangerously close to him.

Sanctuary ranger Vince Toohey hit the salt water crocodile on the head during a show in Townsville.

Tourist Justin O'Henir, who witnessed the incident, said the show continued and the rangers seemed unfazed.
