US 'not seeking to contain China'


President Barack Obama has said the United States "does not seek to contain China", and is looking forward to improved relations with the country.

Speaking at the end of a two-day visit to Japan, he said the "national security and economic growth of one country need not come at the expense of another", and that the US and China would be better off working together.
