Sydney in red dust blanket


A red glow has hit Sydney after dust storms hit much of eastern Australia.

There have been some serious consequences, with diverted flights, suspended ferries and warnings for people to stay indoors.

The state ambulance service reported an increase in calls from people suffering breathing problems, and officials urged people with asthma or heart or lung diseases not to go outside.
