DNA test could halt illegal logging


Illegal logging costs more than $10bn in lost sales and assets every year according to World Bank estimates.

A cheap, reliable way of guaranteeing the source of timber would help solve that problem.

Scientists in Singapore think they might have an answer - a DNA test that would identify the origin of timber.

Mariko Oi reports from Singapore.
