Australia welcomes in new year

A spectacular fireworks show from Sydney Harbour Bridge has marked the start of the new year in Australia.

The centrepiece was a pyrotechnic storm with firework simulations of lightning, thunder and rain - all linked to Aboriginal creation myths.
