Chris Littlejohns, the caretaker of a campsite where scouts were staying in New South Wales, Australia, describes how he tackled a stray alligator.

Police assumed it was a local species of crocodile, but wildlife officials later identified it as an alligator from Florida.

They believe it must have been an escaped pet that had been kept illegally.
