China faces smoking crisis


Tens of millions of people could die from smoking-related illnesses in China over the next 25 years unless urgent action is taken, experts have predicted.

The country is home to the world's largest smoking population - accounting for one in every three cigarettes lit up worldwide.

BBC correspondent Michael Bristow reports from Beijing on the measures the government is taking to prevent a major health crisis.
