Cambodia appeals for election cash

Cambodia has appealed to foreign donors to help pay for the general election due to be held in July.

The co-Interior Minister, Sar Kheng, said the election was essential to Cambodia's future, and warned that there could be a return to civil war if there were not enough funds to organise the polling.

The government needs about thirty million dollars to pay for the voting, but has obtained only a fraction of this amount so far.
