Malaysia intensifies efforts to stop forest fires in its Borneo states
Malaysia is intensifying efforts to stop forest fires spreading through its Sabah and Sarawak states in Borneo. Reports say five hundred more firefighters are being sent in to try to curb increasing smoke pollution. Malaysia's environment minister was said to be seeking a meeting with his Indonesian counterpart, amid growing fears that the smog which blanketed large parts of southeast Asia last year might return.
