What is life like for China's learning generation?

On Friday 24 November schools across Britain will be given the chance to share the day with a school in Beijing, China.

We'll be meeting the teachers and pupils, visiting the classrooms, and finding out everything there is to know about the school day in China.

Little is known about school life in the country with the world's largest population and one of its fastest growing economies.

Earlier this year, students from Our Lady's Convent High School in Hackney, London, visited Beijing Academy of Educational Science Pilot Middle School in China to find out more.

Live broadcasts from Beijing and London on BBC News 24, BBC World and BBC Breakfast from 0700-1500GMT
Broadcasts also streamed live at bbcnews.com/schoolday every hour on the half hour
UK schools can tune in live to the broadcasts on the internet or on News 24 via digital TV

For School Day: China, Carrie Gracie, the BBC's former China correspondent, is in Beijing and BBC News 24 will be in Hackney to put the two schools in touch once again.

BBC News website readers from around the world will also have the chance to put their questions to the students at the Beijing school.

Watch School Day: China throughout the day on BBC News 24.

Each time BBC News 24 visits the school, it will be streamed live at www.bbcnews.com/schoolday.

You can also watch on BBC World at various points throughout the day.
