Chinese swimmers banned

The Chinese Swimming Association says it has imposed a three-year ban and a fine on two swimmers for drugs offences.

The decision against the swimmers Wang Wei and Xiong Guoming follows a ban imposed on them by the world governing body, FINA, earlier this month.

The two swimmers, both from Shanghai, tested positive for anabolic steroids last March.

The swimmers' coaches have also been banned for one year.
