Batsman's sixes 'call off match'
Cricket shot
Butt hit 36 boundaries and lost 12 balls in a previous innings
A Hong Kong cricket match has been cancelled because of fears that one of its big-hitting stars will pose a danger to passing traffic.

The decision was made after 24-year-old Hussain Butt struck 36 sixes in a league match for Hong Kong University.

Two of his drives hit cars travelling past the ground, the Sunday Morning Post reported, and others threatened players on a nearby tennis court.

Officials told the paper they had to postpone the game for "public safety".

Butt's performance for his university side on Saturday impressed spectators, if not the match organisers.

The Pakistani player's knack for hitting boundaries meant he made 311 not out - but lost 12 balls in the process.
