Seven killed by China explosion
Officials in China's eastern Fujian province of Fujian say at least seven people have been killed and 16 injured in a powerful explosion at a house.

Monday's blast in the city of Jinjiang left a large crater at the site, but its cause is not yet known.

Three houses nearby were also badly damaged and rescue work in the town is still going on.

The authorities launched an emergency inspection to clear the city of explosives owned by civilians.

Correspondents say bombings are on the rise in China, where explosives are easily available.
