A British-born man on trial for plotting to bomb the Israeli embassy in the Australian capital of Canberra has changed his plea to guilty.
Jack Roche, 50, who was born in Hull, now faces up to 25 years in prison.
Roche, an Islamic convert, had already admitted visiting Afghanistan in 2000, where he received explosives training and met Osama Bin Laden.
The Australian citizen had originally denied the charge but changed his plea on the 10th day of the trial in Perth.
Roche's change of plea ended the trial, but Justice Paul James Healy asked the jury to give a verdict on the evidence so far.
Al-Qaeda links
The foreman later announced that the jury found the defendant guilty.
Mr Healy set the sentencing for Tuesday.
Roche had joined a plot by members of the al-Qaeda-linked Jemaah Islamiyah militant group to attack the embassy in 2000.
He initially testified that he had been involved but claimed he had a change of heart and worked to have the plot cancelled.
It was never carried out but Roche could be jailed for up to 25 years for conspiring to damage the Israeli embassy with explosives and harm diplomatic staff.
