The Chinese President, Hu Jintao, has arrived in the Mongolian capital, Ulan Bator, for the final visit of his first foreign tour since becoming Chinese leader.
He is expected to hold talks on common regional interests with the Mongolian President, Natsagiyn Bagabandi.
President Hu said in a speech on his arrival that the two countries were good neighbours with a long and friendly history.
Earlier, the Chinese president left Kazakhstan after signing agreements there on fighting terrorism, developing energy and trade links.
