Bus crash inferno in Indonesia
At least 17 people have been killed and another eight injured in a bus crash in Indonesia.

The vehicle smashed into buildings and burst into flames in central Java on Thursday night, near the of Slawi, 320 kilometres (200 miles) east of the capital, Jakarta.

A police spokesman said some of the victims burned to death.

Police said the driver, who was unhurt, was being questioned.

Correspondents say the crash is the latest in a string of accidents involving long-distance buses in Indonesia.

Some reports said the bus lost control after a tyre burst.

It then appeared to have hit some drums of oil before crashing into houses.

Most of the victims were on board the bus, although two people died when they were hit by the vehicle.
