In pictures: The world's strongest people
Men and women from 11 countries have gathered in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur to take part in the World's Strongest Man and Woman competitions.
The strain on the competitors was plain to see as they attempted to lift a car weighing about 1,800 kilograms (3,960 pounds)
Even bigger vehicles were brought into play as in one task the men had to pull a 16-tonne truck
Poland's Mariusz Pudzianowski carried 260 kg in an event called the Farmers' Walk. AFP
But the women weren't to be outdone - as defending champion Jill Mills proved by lifting a 1,500 kg car...
..while Britain's Trish Porter dragged a vehicle of the same weight
