Two Chinese footballers join English club

The captain of the Chinese international football team, Fan Zhiyi, has joined the London club, Crystal Palace, on a four-year contract.

He and another Chinese defender, Sun Jihai, will be the first Chinese players to sign for an English club.

The deal was worth one-point-six million dollars.

The pair were targetted for transfer by the Crystal Palace coach, Ted Buxton, who is a former manager of the Chinese national team.
