Azerbaijan warns of fighting with Armenia
The defence minister of Azerbaijan, Safar Abiyev, has warned of the possibility of renewed hostilities with Armenia over the Armenian-speaking enclave of Nagorno-Karabkh.

Speaking during talks with the visiting head of the Turkish armed forces Huseyin Kivrikoglu, Mr Abiyev accused Armenia of concentrating large numbers of weapons in the area.

He said such weapons and the presence of an enormous number of refugees pose a threat of renewed fighting in the region.

Armenia and Azerbaijan fought an eight-year war over Nagorno-Karabakh which ended with a ceasefire in 1994 with Armenian separatists controlling the enclave.
