Boy, 14, arrested for music piracy
The authorities in Hong Kong have arrested a 14-year-old boy for allegedly allowing people to download pirated pop songs free of charge on the Internet. The territory's customs and excise department said the boy's site attracted 40,000 visitors before it was closed down. Officials said his main motivation in setting up the site was to show off his computer skills. The authorities have yet to decide whether to prosecute the boy for allegedly breaking music copyright laws. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
