In pictures: Taiwan war games
Taiwan and China have had tense relations since the Communists drove the nationalists off the mainland more than 50 years ago.
Hugely outnumbered, Taiwan has relied on hi-tech weaponry to discourage China from invading the island. Taiwan showed off some of its arsenal in war games on Friday, ahead of a US decision on whether to sell more hi-tech weapons to Taipei.
