Suharto daughter implicated in corruption

The daughter of former President Suharto of Indonesia has been named as a suspect in a multi-million dollar corruption case.

A spokesman for the attorney general said the case against Tutut Suharto concerned an oil and gas pipeline project on the island of Java in the 1980s.

A firm owned by Tutut had carried out initial work on the project, for which it charged the state oil company thirty-seven million-dollars.

However, it's claimed the company only did a fraction of the work it charged for. Tutut is the latest member of the Suharto family to be implicated in a corruption scandal.

The former president's son, Tommy, is in hiding following his conviction in a property scandal, and several other children have been questioned about business deals.
