Suharto's daughter sentenced for firearm possession

An Indonesian court has found the youngest daughter of former President Suharto guilty of the illegal possession of firearms.

Siti Hutami Endang Adiningsih was sentenced to a thirty-day probation period; if she violates any law during this time, she will receive a ten-day jail term.

Police and prosecutors discovered firearms when they searched her home last month, looking for her elder brother, Tommy Suharto.

He has been declared a nationwide fugitive after he failed to turn himself in to the authorities to serve an eighteen-month jail term for corruption.
