Obama's news briefing in full

US President-elect Barack Obama has given his first official news conference since his election victory.

He said his priority was to confront the economic crisis "head-on" after taking office.

Before speaking to reporters in Chicago, Mr Obama held talks with a 17-member council of economic advisers.
