California's Republican governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has cast his vote and joked that his household had been split 50-50.
Mr Schwarzenegger's wife, Maria Shriver, is a member of the famous Democratic Kennedy family.
But Arnie assured journalists that among 'Austrian-born bodybuilders' McCain had got 100% of the vote.
