Mexico clinic denies carrying out abortions
Owners of a family planning clinic in southern Mexico, which was raided by police on Tuesday, have denied allegations that it has been used to carry out abortions. A spokesman for the British-based charity which runs the clinic, Marie Stopes International, said an anti-abortion group had acted without proof when it made the accusations. Dozens of police stormed the clinic, arresting a doctor and a nurse and digging in the grounds for aborted fetuses. Abortion in Mexico is banned in all but a few cases.
