BP's race against time to stop oil leak

Engineers at BP are racing against time to build a funnel to help contain the oil leak into the Gulf of Mexico.

The funnel is a 98-tonne, 40-foot iron box that resembles a primitive space rocket.

In theory, the system should collect 85% of the oil rising from the sea floor but BP has never deployed the structure at this depth.

BP's John Curry explained how the machine should work.
