Donor countries at a UN conference in New York have promised far more money than expected to help Haiti rebuild after a devastating earthquake.

The UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon announced that they had pledged nearly $10bn in both short and long term investment.

The earthquake decimated Haiti's economy, killing more than 200,000 of its people and leaving more than a million homeless.

Barbara Plett reports.
