Power is being restored in many parts of Brazil after a four hour blackout plunged major cities including Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro into darkness.
All of neighbouring Paraguay was also left without power for a period of around 15 minutes.
The blackout came after a large hydroelectric plant which supplies energy both to Brazil and Paraguay went offline. The dam's owner later blamed problems with the transmission grid.
