Sniper's attorney on 'tragic' shootings

The man behind the 2002 sniper attacks in and around Washington DC has been executed after a last-ditch appeal was thrown out.

John Allen Muhammad, 48, was put to death by lethal injection at the Greensville Correctional Center in Jarratt, Virginia.

J Wyndal Gordon, one of Muhammad's attorneys, said the execution raised ''a lot of different feelings for the families devastated by the tragic shootings''.
