US army base gunman in custody

A US army major is now reported to have killed 12 people at a US military base in Texas, but was not shot dead as previously stated.

Lieutenant General Bob Cone, the commanding officer at Fort Hood army base, said Major Nidal Malik Hasan had been shot several times but was in a stable condition and in custody.
