Key moments from Kennedy's funeral

The funeral and burial of Senator Edward Kennedy has taken place in Boston, and Washington.

The mass, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Basilica in Boston, was attended by President Barack Obama as well as three former American Presidents.

Mr Obama and Senator Kennedy's son Ted Kennedy Junior were among those that delivered emotional tributes to the senator.

After the church ceremony, the Senator's body was taken to the US Capitol in Washington for a brief prayer service before staff and colleagues.

The cortege then proceeded to Arlington National Cemetery, where Senator Kennedy was laid to rest near his assassinated brothers, ex-President John and Robert.
