Ban Ki-moon defends 'quiet' style

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has insisted that quiet diplomacy should not be construed as a lack of leadership.

In an interview with the BBC, halfway through his first five year term in office, Mr Ban responded to criticism of his low-key style, and confirmed that he would serve a second term, if asked.

The BBC's UN correspondent, Laura Trevelyan, reports.
