'Discrimination cannot stand'

US President Barack Obama has told America's oldest civil rights group, the NAACP, that the pain of discrimination against minority groups was still being felt in the US.

Mr Obama told the NAACP members who had gathered for the anniversary dinner in New York, "make no mistake, the pain of discrimination is still felt in America" and urged them to take responsibility for their lives and their communities.
